Ingredients:
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 onions, finely sliced
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 4-5 green cardamom pods
- 2-3 cloves
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ground fennel
- Salt to taste
- Chopped mint and coriander for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, green cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and bay leaf. Sauté until aromatic.
- Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add yogurt and ground fennel. Mix well.
- Add chicken pieces and brown them on all sides.
- Add enough water to cover the chicken. Cover and simmer until the chicken is cooked.
- Garnish with chopped mint and coriander.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
